On October 7th, we hold a teachers and parents meeting for the new Grade 10 students. Parents, teachers, Principal Chen of Soochow University High School (SUHS), Principal of Nova Scotia Program, and the students who got the Entrance Scholarship all present the meeting.
The meeting
started at 2 P.M. First of all, Principal Chen shared experience with parents
about her son’s academic life in Canada. Then, Mr. Wang, who works in
International Students Centre of SUHS, did a presentation about the process of
visa application. After the presentation, Jessica Wu, Program Manager of Nova
Scotia Program, gave the presentation on Comparison of the educational system in
China and Canada. It was a big change for students who join Sino-Canada Program.
We need both parents and school to work jointly to help students adapt to the
new academic environment as soon as possible.
At the end
of the meeting, the Canadian Principal and teachers awarded the Entrance
Scholarship to Andrea, Iris, and Betty who are the top 3 students according to
the entrance exam to Nova Scotia Program.
After the meeting, parents all understand better about our Nova Scotia Program which is a whole new beginning to their children and even to parents themselves. There are so many differences between what we used to learn and what we are learning now.
