The linkage between home and school
2021-01-05

The Sino-Canada Program held an analysis meeting for mid-term results in the first semester of 2021 academic year (which was delayed a little this year because of the epidemic). The analysis consisted of two parts. The first part is a joint analysis and discussion organized by the Vice Principal Ms. Hu Lei, and the second part is a one-to-one discussion between the foreign teachers and the parents.

At the analysis meeting, Ms. Hu Lei first analyzed the mid-term examination grades, she put forward that all teachers should pay attention to. class management, take students as the center, and find problems in time. All head teachers should carefully and rigorously analyze the data of midterm examination results, explore the reasons for students' performance changes, observe students' psychological changes, and actively guide students of all grades to establish a correct class learning atmosphere.

The head teachers comprehensively and meticulously reported their routine work and the data analysis of the students' academic performance, analyzed the students' academic performance in various disciplines in detail, and made in-depth comparative analysis of each student's performance in different periods.

All head teachers also discussed how to further assist and support foreign teachers' teaching, guide students to summarize methods and experience to improve their performance, and make plans for the next stage of class management in advance.

Through one-to-one discussion and communication with students and their parents, foreign teachers analyze the specific problems of students.

The foreign teachers pay more attention to the students' classroom situation, learning style, and put forward targeted suggestions for the specific problems of different students.

Our program fully implements small class teaching models, and all courses are taught by Canadian teachers in English, using only Canadian high school textbooks. Therefore, teachers can better understand the situation of each student in the class and intuitively grasp the difficulties and problems encountered by students in the learning process.

The total grade of each course is composed of examination score (30%) and daily performance (70%). The daily performance includes the assessment and evaluation of a variety of assignments, speaking in class, group activities and presentations. These assessment tools create a portfolio for each student that reflecttheir overall learning  and completely avoid the dilemma of "one test for life".

The parent meeting helpto promote the linkage between home and school and allows  students to overcome all kinds of difficulties in learning through the collaborative efforts of foreign teachers and head teachers.

This mid-term grade analysis meeting provides parents with more professional and personalized guidance, so that parents can have a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of students' learning and development. It helps to form a solid foundation from which all students can establish a positive learning attitude and develop an understanding of their learning style, the key to continued academic success.
