The University of Sydney, founded in 1850, is located in Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, Australia. It is within the financial, trade and tourism center of the southern hemisphere. It is one of the world's top research universities, a member of Sandstone Universities, Group of Eight, Association of Pacific Rim Universities, Worldwide Universities Network, Association of Commonwealth Universities, Global AI Academic Alliance and Pacific Asian Consortium for International Business Education and Research. It is also AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accredited university and a member of CEMS (only one university in each country or region is selected).

 

The University of Sydney is ranked 27th in the 2021 U.S. News World University Rankings, 40th in the 2021 QS World University Rankings, 51st in the 2021 World University Rankings, 1st in the 2020 QS World University graduates employment competitiveness in Australia, and 4th in the world. The University of Sydney attaches importance to the combination of theory and practice. The faculties of Education, Law, Medicine, Accounting and Finance, Politics and International Studies, Architecture, Music, Literature, Linguistics, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, and Nursing all ranked in the top 20 of 2019 QS rankings.

 

The University of Sydney has cultivated a series of important figures in its history. Its graduates have been firmly in control of Australia's political and economic lifeline, including eight Australian Prime Ministers, five Nobel Prize winners, 23 Supreme Court judges, 110 Rhodes scholars, President of the United Nations General Assembly, President of the International Court of justice, President of the World Bank, President of the Reserve Bank of Australia and President of Macquarie Group And other well-known political and business people. At present, the University of Sydney has signed exchange student agreements with 292 cooperative universities in 42 countries and regions around the world.

 

At present, the University of Sydney has nine campuses. The two main campuses are Camperdown and Darlington. They include 10 of the 17 colleges, covering an area of 72 hectares, located three kilometers southwest of the city center. Its traditional Neo Gothic architecture reflects that the university has a long history of academic and cultural heritage and is regarded as a national cultural heritage site.
